Short Term Medical Insurance is a simple, fast and affordable way for Colorado residents to provide Health Insurance coverage for a limited period of time (30 to 185 days). It is available for healthy individuals between the ages of one month and 65 including dependent children. Harmony Insurance Benefits knows that approximately 50% of all bankruptcies in the United States are due to medical costs and therefore provides Short Term Medical to help protect clients between gaps in coverage.

You choose the policy that best meets your needs and budget by selecting from numerous plan features. You also have the freedom to choose any doctor or hospital but you can maximize your benefits by using Private Healthcare Systems (PHCS), Healthy Directions Network of providers. PHCS is the largest PPO network in the country, providing access to medical care at reduced costs through nearly 450,000 providers and 4,000 facilities.

  • Between jobs or laid off
  • Looking for a lower-cost alternative to COBRA
  • Recent college graduates
  • Waiting for employer-sponsored coverage
  • Temporary or seasonal employees

Time Insurance Company's Short Term Medical Insurance is not for people who:

  • Have the need to cover pre-existing conditions (treated within the previous 5 years)
  • Are not sure that future coverage if forthcoming. Time Insurance Company’s Short Term Plan is not renewable without additional underwriting!
  • Need coverage for preventive care, physicals, dental or eye care.
  • Will turn 65 or become eligible for Medicare during the benefit period.
  • Are pregnant.
  • Are seeking coverage while traveling outside of the U.S.
  • Have been previously declined by another carrier.

If you think you'll need more permanent health coverage, you may want to look at another health insurance option, such as an Individual Medical policy or COBRA, etc.

The following is an overview of the plan choices:

  • First you choose a deductible. Either $250 per individual, or $500, $1,000, $2,500 per family.
  • Then you choose a coinsurance (a percentage the insurance will pay).
  • 100% option.
    • 80% option. You pay 20% of the next $10,000 up to a maximum of $2000 for one individual on a policy. For 2 individuals on a policy the maximum is $4000 and for 3 or more the family maximum is $5000.
    • 50% option. You pay 50% of the next $10,000 up to a maximum of $5000 for one individual on a policy. For 2 individuals on a policy the maximum is $5000 and for 3 or more the family maximum is $5000.
  • Lastly, choose a lifetime benefit maximum, ie plan pays 100% of remaining covered expenses up to either $2 million or $5 million for each covered person.

If you are not completely satisfied with the plan, you can return it to Time Insurance Company within 10 days of delivery for a premium refund. Where the one-time application fee applies the fee is non-refundable. You must put your request in writing and fax it to 414-299-6217 or mail it to: Assurant Health, P.O.
