Anthem is one of the most recognized and trusted names in health insurance and insures more than 90
million members - nearly one in three Americans! Being a very large and solid company (rating of "A"
or Excellent by AM Best) has afforded them the opportunity to attain one of the largest networks in
Colorado, (nearly 8,500 health care providers and over 60 hospitals throughout the state). Policyholders
can go to Blue Cross doctors anywhere in the country, and can even access a world-wide network.
As with all carriers in the individual insurance market, Anthem has the right to accept, decline or
waiver (not cover) any condition. Let us help guide you through the process especially if you are being
treated for things like depression, anxiety, or high cholesterol.
Anthem BCBS offers five solid plan designs including a new cutting-edge "Consumer Directed" Health
plan. Also note Anthem does not offer maternity coverage in any of their individual health insurance
products.
Anthem BluePreferred PPO plan designs feature traditional PPO full-coverage with a variety of
deductibles to choose from. All plans include a $25 copay for doctor visits and various copays for
prescription drugs. Included is also an accident benefit that covers the first $500 for any accident with
a zero deductible. Great value!
Anthem Lumenos Health Savings Account (HSA) enable you combine a low-cost high-deductible health
insurance policy with a tax-advantaged savings account. They offer seven HSA plans with various
deductibles but all have 100% coverage for nationally recommended preventative care including
immunizations and various screenings. Please contact our office for information to help maximize your
benefit and understanding of HSA's. Premiums for HSA plans are typically lower than plans that offer
copays for various services. This lower premium, along with the tax savings, results in a very low net
cost for your health insurance and therefore are recommended in many cases. A favorite of many!
Anthem Lumenos Health Incentive Account (HIA) are new "consumer-driven" health plans designed with
on-line tools to help
you manage your health, health decisions and health care dollars. These plans have
fantastic preventative benefits and furthermore offer "healthy rewards" which are financial incentives
(additional HIA-dollars) to encourage you to maintain and improve your health. These HIA-dollars are
yours to spend on covered medical services and while they roll over from year to year, they are not yours
to keep if you leave the plan. There are two HIA plans offered, a base plan and a plus-plan, which each
year throws in an extra $500 for an individual and $1,000 for a family. Great Value and Preventative
benefits!
Anthem Tonik Plans are new and relatively innovative - combining dental and vision services inside
the health plan offering. Tonik offers great value for young and healthy individuals and must be applied
for online. Tonik was designed for the uninsured population and is only available as an individual plan
meaning a husband, wife and dependents would have to apply separately. There are three plans offering
office visit co-pays of $20, $30, or $40 and deductible choices of $1,500, $3,000, or $5,000. All plans
include copays for emergency room visits and coverage for generic-only drugs. New and innovative!
Anthem Right Plan is the most affordable of the individual options yet still offers first-dollar
payments (no deductible) on all services. You choose between plans that cover generic medications only
up to a plan with comprehensive prescription coverage. While these plans offer great flexibility they
also have higher exposure to risk should you have expensive hospitalization. Great Flexibility!
